Bombyx

Bombyx
With the arrival of patch 5.1 also comes Bombyx, a unique-coloured dark red caterpillar (err, silk worm), who loves silkweed! He's quite large, as you can see on the screenshot where he passes a Saurok, but shrinks down considerably when tamed.

Well, till now, we've been following tracks that had a beginning and an end. Not for Bombyx. His tracks look just like smaller silweed plants! And since silkweed grows on the borders of the waters anyway, you'll get a bit of a hard time tracking him down.

Bombyx roams the general middle area north of the Temple of the Red Crane, about where the lake splits into two rivers. I have not included a map with his path, this is because he is confined to a relatively small area, and turns and circles and pauses along this path! What I suggest is just throwing flares down where you see a lot of his tracks.

This is a rough map of his whereabouts:

Recruitment Post: Unity Raiding Community (25 EU) [Updated 10.1.13]

Since the Ulduar Raid instance came out, I've been a member of the Unity Raiding Community on our EU server Steamwheedle Cartel. It is the perfect place for me: fellow players, some that have been raiding since Vanilla, mature and interesting people, raids with commited raidleaders and players and a steady progression. I've had my best time in WoW with this group, together with my guildie Natarumah, who is hosting an excellent Shadowpriest blog. Natarumah is one of the officers in Unity, and being a much better writer than I am, I allow myself to copy his recruitment post, hoping to find some rare-crazy and raiding-interested people to join our community.

Throughout this post I've added some screenshots of Unity's progress through the years, being one of the oldest raiding groups on the server and still going strong.

Unity and Ragnaros, the original

What is Unity?

Unity is a 25-man raiding community on Steamwheedle Cartel (EU), Alliance side. As a raiding community we don’t ask of people to join a particular guild, so people can remain with their friends if that’s what they like. The core guild of Unity is the House of Elements, and many members of Unity are in this guild. We’re a moderate progression guild – we don’t push for world-firsts but aim for steady progression and a sustainable raiding experience.

Past achievements include achieving every single Glory achievement since they were released and completing several Legendaries (Val’anyrs, Shadowmournes, Dragonwraths and Fangs of the Father).
Our current progress is 6/6 Mogushan Vaults, 6/6 in Heart of Fear and 1/4 in Terrace of Eternal Spring.

Raid times:
We raid every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 20:30 server time until 24:00 server time. Gathering time for the raid is 20:15. Our voice chat is based on Mumble.

Recruitment Status

[Updated 10.01.2013] We’re looking for:
  • Warlock
  • Monk (dps)
Our Tanking and Healing team is very strong and reliable, so we don’t need mainspec tanks or healers. You are welcome to have those as off-spec, but it’s unlikely they will be called on for the time.

Key talents:
  • Knowing your class, and willing to improve
  • Willing to listen to orders, perform encounter-specific functions and discuss tactics
  • Teamplayer
  • Ability to raid on at least 2 of the 3 days mentioned above

Looking for more to save Pandaria!

If you’re interested in joining us, please visit http://unity.home.pl/forum/index.php for more information. You will find our recruitment forum here, with more essential info and our current applications. Your application is your first impression, so be sure to answer the questions and give us good insight in who you are. We recruit people based on their personality as much as their skill.

Note for cross-server applications:
We accept people from other realms, and some of our members today are the result of successful cross-realm applications and transfers. I strongly suggest making your app and linking us a combat log (such as from worldoflogs.com) which shows us how you perform, before you transfer. There will be plenty of time to hop over to Steamwheedle Cartel (EU) once we decide to give you a trial run, and it’s a waste of time and money if you transfer blindly.
